Teso Education Fund (TEF), a charity registered in UK number 1196225 and in Uganda as a national NGO will hold the 2nd Teso Education Conference on Saturday 09 April 2022 at Sports View Hotel, Kireka, Kampala, Uganda. The conference was postponed to Saturday 7th May 2022. See the announcement postponing the conference here.
The conference will start at 9:00 AM with the arrival of participants and finish at 4:00 PM, Uganda Time or 7:00 AM to 1:00 PM UK Time.

The theme of the conference is exploring opportunities for funding education in Teso. The conference seeks to achieve the following 4 objectives:
The conference will be opened by Hon Dr Ongalo Obote Clement Kenneth, Member of Parliament for Kalaki County and Minister of State for Teso Affairs.
The conference will be closed by Hon Hellen Adoa, Member of Parliament for Serere District and Minister of State for Fisheries.
The Keynote address will be delivered by Professor Godfrey Akileng, Dean, School of Business, Makerere University who will speak about opportunities in the public and private spheres for funding education in Uganda, with a focus on opportunities for Teso region.
A strategic presentation will be delivered by Mr Bernard Ongodia, Principal, Uganda Petroleum Institute, Kigumba. Mr Ongodia will address the need for a strategic shift in focus from knowledge and theoretical education in Teso sub region to vocational education in line with TEF’s 5-year strategy 2021 – 2025.

The conference is targeting a range of stakeholder individuals, organisations, and institutions.
We have invited high ranking government officials including ministers from Teso, members of parliament from Teso, and local leaders from Teso.
Academics from leading institutions such as Makerere University, Kyambogo University, Soroti University of Science and Technology, and Busitema University have been invited.
